In addition, the documentary “The Source: The Human Cost Hidden in a Cup of Coffee,” a Noticias Telemundo, The Weather Channel Digital and Efran Films coproduction, won the News and Documentary Emmy® for Outstanding Business, Consumer and Economic Report. The piece documents the tasks performed by the migrant children who work in coffee production and the role played by regulatory agencies, intermediaries and transnational companies in perpetuating the situation.
The News & Documentary Emmy® Awards ceremony took place at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P Rose Hall in the Time Warner Complex at Columbus Circle in New York City. The event was attended by more than 1,000 television and news media industry executives, news and documentary producers and journalists.
